Meet Dr. Akhil Gupta

As a double board-certified dermatologist and MOHS micrographic surgeon, I am honored to lead at the forefront of Skin Center of Florida™. With my dual board certifications, I bring a specialized level of expertise to the diagnosis and treatment of complex skin conditions, including skin cancer.
After earning my medical degree, I completed an internship, dermatology residency, and an advanced fellowship in MOHS and Cosmetic dermatologic surgery in South Florida. These years of intensive training were foundational in shaping my surgical skill, clinical judgment, and patient-first philosophy.
Throughout my career, I have been grateful for the trust patients place in me, particularly in performing intricate surgical procedures. As a proud member of the American Academy of Dermatology and American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, I remain actively engaged in advancing the field through clinical research and scholarly publication. In fact, as an attending physician, I mentor medical students, residents, and fellows—training the next generation of skilled, compassionate clinicians and surgeons.
It is also a privilege to be among fewer than 900 physicians in the United States to hold the distinction of being MOHS-board certified—an honor that reflects a deep commitment to excellence in skin cancer surgery and patient care.
Lastly, I also specialize in men’s aesthetic dermatology, and the unique dermatologic needs of individuals with skin of color—areas where personalized, culturally competent care truly makes a difference.

I have a hands-on approach that ensures from the first consultation to the completion of your treatment, you have a consistent, knowledgeable, and caring specialist by your side. You won’t be handed off. I give you direct access to me– including the ability to reach me via text. This is how I reinforce my dedication to patient care and ensure you feel more than comfortable. My Philosophy
My commitment to medicine goes beyond the clinic—I give back to the community that raised me. I chose to practice in South Florida, where the sunshine, saltwater, and diverse culture have always felt like home.
I am a proud South Florida native and alumnus of Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, the University of Iowa, Florida Atlantic University, and Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine.
Medicine is my profession. Being a husband and father shapes my perspective. I value community health, connection, and well-being.
